Thonburi is the western part of Bangkok, situated on the right side of the Chao Phya River. Its many canals had originally given Bangkok the name ?Venice of the East.? Passing by boat along the canals gives you a first hand impression of the scenic life along Bangkok?s waterways. Also visit the Royal Barges and the Temple of Dawn.

The Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, situated 110 kms west of Bangkok, is a very attractive place for tourists to see the old style and traditional way of selling and buying fruits, vegetables, etc., from small boats. You will also see traditional Thai houses, the way they live and travel by boats. On the way to Bangkok, short stop for lunch at local restaurant and then visit Wat Po, the most extensive temple in Bangkok, with its colossal Reclining Buddha and the Chedis of the Kings. Continue to The Grand Palace, one of the most beautiful samples of an ancient Siamese court. It used to be the residence of the Kings of Thailand. Here you will see palaces which were used for different occasions: the Funeral Palace, the Reception Palace, the Throne Hall, the Coronation Hall, the Royal Guest House, and the beautiful Emerald Buddha Temple. End of tour also visit flower market.

Among the "must see" attractions in Thailand is a visit to Ayuthaya, the former capital of Thailand situated 90 kms north of Bangkok. This tour also includes a boat trip to Bang-Pa-In, the former Royal Summer Residence, which represents a fine example of Thai architecture. Drive up the serpentine road to the magnificently situated Wat Doi Suthep. Perched on a forested mountain, this most sacred Chiang Mai temple (3,280 ft) provides a superb view over the city, as well as a wealth of images and frescos. You then pass the city's biggest market, Talat Warorod, before going to two important temples - Wat Chedi Luang and Wat Phra Sing.

08.30 Drive to the north of Chiang Mai to visit the Mae Ping Elephant Camp. Watch the elephants taking their daily bath in the stream before beginning to haul timber in the forest. You will be amazed by their strength and clever teamwork. Afterwards ride on elephant back for one hour through the forest and continue by 30 min. of rafting along the Ping River. And then transfer direct to Chiang Saen, on the way visit hill tribes.
